New Challenge: Turning Over a New Leaf
We looked back and reflected on the positives and the negatives of our last challenge (Lake Cumberland 200 Mile Virtual Challenge) and made improvements. Turning Over A New Leaf is for any person, at any level.
Unlike the last challenge there are no set miles as that is completely up to you. Instead of a set goal, we have created 10 level-ups to keep you going. You make of it what most benefits you. This is the challenge that keeps on giving for the seasoned athlete and it is the challenge that will be attainable for the person who is just starting out.
There is a challenge for the runner/walker/hiker which is based on miles as well as a challenge for the multi-sport (run/bike/paddle/swim/skate/etc) people which is based on time.
What is included? You will see 10 different level-ups in the challenge that will earn you profile digital badges along the way. All you need is an app or device that will track your time/miles. In the end, whichever level you reach will be the medal you receive for the challenge. Of course there is going to be a t-shirt and even a long-sleeve option!
That is not all there is to this challenge. There will also be mini challenges within the challenge such as planned 5Ks or timed bike rides to keep you moving and to challenge yourself a bit more. Registration opens and challenge starts on September 22nd and ends January 1st. This is about starting now on becoming a more fit person and not waiting to the new year.
Did you start late? You can include past miles/times AS LONG AS there is some kind of proof you can show with data.
